Magistrate

Role Description

The Magistrate is a role that's able to lock other players up, which both protects and disables the player. The Magistrate can use their role to protect other innocents (at the expense of them being able to use their ability), to try and determine roles (because if there was a kill missing during the night it's possible it was the corresponding baddie the Magistrate locked up the previous night (though that's hardly definitive; it's something a dreamer should check)), or to prevent known baddies from using their role, should they need to be kept alive for any reason.

Role Powers

  • Each night the Magistrate can put somebody in Protective Custody for the following day/night cycle. During that time, the player may not be targeted or voted for, but can't target anyone either.

Role Alternatives

  • Placing somebody in Protective Custody can prevent the player from posting and voting, as well.

The Magistrate may not place the same person in Protective Custody on consecutive days.

  • The Magistrate may be able to take the player out of Protective Custody before the day/night cycle is over.
