Illusionist

Role Description

The Illusionist is a one man team that creates illusions to trick other players into believeing their victims are still alive. The victims are in fact dead, resulting in their powers, vote and player count are dead too. A day after the player was killed, the public are informed of their death. To put it simply, all the Illusionist does is delay the announcement for a player's death by a cycle.

Role Powers

  • Every night the Illusionist kills a player, however the public is not informed that the player has died
    • The target believes they're alive, but any power they use does not work, their vote does not count. For all intents and purposes, they're dead
    • A cycle after the player has been killed, the public is finally informed that the player is dead

Alternatives

  • The player may be informed that they're actually dead
  • The Illusionist may have redirect or bus driving powers
  • If another player tries to target the player while they're 'in limbo' (dead, but not announced), they get a negative effect (e.g. shield loss)

Kill Method

  • Illusion disappears to reveal corpse

Sample Role

Illusionist
Alignment: Evil, OMT
Win Condition: All other players defeated

Kill: Every night you can kill a player. PM a list of five players and the topmost player will be attacked.

Illusion: Although you kill every night, the announcement for that attack will occur a day/night cycle after it actually occured. The player will still be dead, but you will be the only one who knows it. Anything they attempt to do will not work, because they're dead.
