Bookie

Role Description

The Bookie is a role that gambles on peoples' lives. Each day they try to guess who will die the following night. If successful, they can gain Special Powers.

Role Powers

  • At the start of the game, the Bookie chooses whether they wish to be evil or innocent.
    • If they choose innocent, they win if they innocents do.
    • If they choose evil, they win if any evil team wins.
  • Each night the Bookie can guess on who they think will die that night. If they are correct, they gain a Special Power (dependant on which side they chose).

Alternatives

  • The Bookie may be forced to guess who they think will die at night. If they do not, they too will die.
  • There may be a different penalty for a failure to guess or an incorrect guess, such as shield decrease.
  • The Bookie's alignment may be decided by the MC.
  • Once, the Bookie may guess that they will die during the night; if they are attacked they will be completely protected from the attack; if they aren't, it's treated as an incorrect guess.
  • The Bookie may not gain Special Powers upon a correct guess, but instead gain points they can use to buy Special Powers.
    • The Bookie may be innocent with no win condition, and have to buy their alignment, with this case.
